ok......my turn to be inspired by Sharlene to make this blog. haiz ok where shall we start......

First practice

waaahhhh i don't really have much memory of what happened on first prac, but I rmb being sooo rusty.....then Joel keep asking me play first trumpet but so paiseh cuz i cant pitch anything (ngl I until concert also cant pitch properly, Joshua literally had to tell me to pitch up or down during soundcheck LOL)

Next few weeks

honestly....I had a lot of fun coming back and catching up with seniors, learnt so much about everyone (XINGNI IS NOT VEGETARIAN ANYMORE) and had alot of laughs in band. And Mr Tan coming back to conduct us honestly was quite nostalgic, esp since we could hear alot of stories about SYF from previously. Maybe one day we will play Vesuvius again :))

Then out of no where I suddenly became Section Rep (为什么???) but is okkk, I shall try my best. Everyone was very easy to work with tho, replies were always quick and agreeable, so section rep for trumpets honestly quite a breeze, at least no need keep chasing people unlike at work.

Also everyone improve SO FAST.....wats going on. 1 week we were struggling with the notes next week everything was falling into place, then last few practice the pieces started sounding good???? Its like they just needed to warm up then they are back to playing good music again, cant imagine what the seniors sounded like when they were in their prime.

Concert week

WTF kena cold sore AGAIN....this is literally me crashing out to Ziwei 5 days away from concert

Forgive me for using profanities but I was panicking....this is maybe my forth or fifth concert that was affected by cold sore....for more context, my sec 2 concert I was told to not play cuz i got cold sore, practice so hard end up sit backstage and watch everyone else play, so sian..... BUT lucky Ziwei calmed me down and advised me, i faster go apply anti viral cream and pray it healed by sunday, AND it mostly did, healed enough for me to play, so yayyy

Concert day

Woke up bright and early (not very bright actually cuz 5.30am only) then went to school to move instruments. Reach SCH and everyone was there, felt very nice to see everyone so smiley (except Sharlene cuz she was rushing assignment HAHHAHAHA) 

THEN CAME SOUNDCHECK.....WHERE EVERYBODY GOT SO TIRED......they 没有放 chance. After soundcheck I quickly rush to get the cake from Grab driver who was calling then open box JUST TO SEE THE CAKE TOPPLED AND SQUASHED waaaaat. But is ok we got full refund from grab and still ate the whole cake MUAHAHAHA. 

Concert

Concert itself was pretty good, I think we did well. This band honestly got aura, watching back the concert videos I wouldn't have thought most people never play their instruments for years or decades already.

and I guess I still frown when I play, look so angry

Geraldine - for always laughing and making the mood light and fun during practice! Always had fun playing next to u!

Joshua, Brandon - for tanking so many first parts!!!! I only wish I could help more! But goodjob guys

Dominic - for the trumpet pins!! All of us looked better on stage with that pin!

Sharlene, Chloe, Derek - for bringing the youthful energy and coming to play even when you guys were scared

Jaycee - for being there for the weekend practices even though (im pretty sure) you had a choice not to come

Thank you everyone for this concert cuz it made me wanna play in a band again......
