haha... liangyun the post very fake right? he sound so fake.
nevertheless, what he says is true. i've seen u guys coming into the bandroom much more in recent times, practicing more, and overall just putting in lots more effort. i'm glad to see this happening. very happy. plz keep it up, and be glad that ur seniors talked to u so early this year instead of leaving it late. i'm the best example of stupidity. sec1 and 2, so relaxed compared to sec3, then i choose to be enthu in band only now. idiot sia. dunno why i only this enthu now. but i guess it's just as well i'm getting enthu when my batch is hitting its prime.
seeing yu qing blog about making this upcoming concert a success, i suddenly thought about past concerts, esp those that i played alongside this 2 fantastic sec4 seniors of ours. whether it was my very first proper full band concert at VCH at the end of 2004, or the SYF 2005, or even that impromptu 'concert' during the 2nd night of NOMAD last year, they all hold a special place in my heart. truth be told, i have gone through ALOT with these 2 seniors. not only have they been seniors to me, but they have also been great friends. ( i actually have tears which are gonna come out as i type this) with liangyun, well, i never saw him in sec1. he very anonymous lol. but when i got into the senior band, and i started seeing more and more of him, he has been a fantastic friend and senior, knowing when to have fun and when to be serious. he's also a pretty funny guy, which just emphasises the idiom 'never judge a book by its cover', as u would never think that liangyun is such a funny guy just by looking at him. with yu qing...she has always been there for me and for the rest of the section. right frm the start, she helped a bit during sectionals, and i feel that she has gone well beyond the call of duty in leading the section in 2005 and these first few mths of 2006. she has done everything, and then some more, when it comes to the section and the band, even when she has had personal problems. a true band fanatic. a true friend as well. we have had some amazing chats, where the subjects jumped from one thing to another seamlessly. once, we even chatted for 2 hours and 15 mins straight. my parents were suspicious after that, lol. asking me qns like 'who were u talking to? boy or girl?'. lmao. but anyone reading this don't misunderstand ok. we are just very gd friends. she has helped me, she has given me an outlet to talk to when i feel down, and i'd like to think that i've done the same in return.
juniors... u might or might not have the same kind of feelings for ur sec4s now, or even for me, ur sec3 senior. but once we go through SYF and band trip, i'm pretty sure u guys will feel smth. to me, those 2 events were what made my bond with the sec4s so strong, esp qing, since liangyun didnt go on the band trip.
there you go... i've just paid tribute to two of the best ppl u could make friends with. i'll be very sad when they leave. POP that time...don't be surprised if u see my eyes wet. they have done alot for me, both as friends and seniors. hey, the 2 of u, i hope that even after u guys graduate frm AMKSS, that we can still be as close as we are now. u guys are massive. magnificent. brilliant. and i'm the luckiest bastard in the world to have had such great seniors. i love u guys. frm the bottom of my heart.
and juniors...? keep up the gd work homies. u know what i said bout treating u guys if we got gold with honours at SYF 2007? i meant it. that is how much getting gold with honours and doing well as a section means to me. i've gone through lots of stuff as a trumpeter. stuff that makes me glad i'm still one. i dunno if i can emulate what yu qing has done for the section, but i'll be damned if i don't put in 150% for the section.
keep at it homies. the trumpet section rocks to no end.
