Had our second section bbq at downstair Yuqing/my house!

Before that.. the sec 3 went for batch outing @kbox..diaso..and i dont know! haha

While the sec 4 went to buy birthday presents & cake for march babies!

BBQ was good! All the sec 1 came (but none of the sec 2 was here), and most importantly, MANY FOOD!

After eating, the current trumpet section went to play games like scissors paper stone, while the alumnis continued eating/ having heart-to-heart talk (germaine&yanling haha)

At the end of the bbq, we celebrated birthday of dominic, Tian Wei, Wendy, Germaine & Winston!

Also, Special thanks to Yu Qing for organising this gathering! :)

Anyway today Me, Joel, Tian Wei and Justine finally completed our ABRSM grade 5 paper!

Felt so shiok because i can finally forget about all the terms i have memorised so hard (and guess what? Only 2 questions on terms came out -.-)

1 more month to getting our results and also to SYF!

Ok... A post to revive this blog and a first post as SL 2010-2011. I'm Joel for all the alumnus and passerby who don't know me.
  Well, technically, I've been reading through the blogs archives to like find out more about the past. You know? Get to know your roots. Yup. Glenn, Yu Qing, liang yun, Winston, Germaine, Brandon, yan ling, Clara and rui shan are ours roots. I'm sure there are much deeper ones, but these are all I know. I'm very sure the sec ones don't know them. Yah? So maybe I was thinking to have a meeting! Haha. Typical Joel. Start planning about the holidays during exams. I assure that I studied!
  I really encourage you guys to also read the archives. Really interesting. You'll find we used to have a macdonald opposite. Mr tan played soccer with my direct direct senior, Winston. Yah. Plus the alumnus used to have crazy scores for exams. 49/50 for mtl!? Yu Qing is good. Haha.
  Another thing, after ypsb and yog for the seniors, jbf for the juniors, here comes syf. I can't believe this has been planned since last year. Where mr tan was briefing us. Wow. I feel old already. When the exams are over and we come back on 13 oct, go full drive. You know, sec 1s, especially you all. You have so much catching up to do. Next year you will have your own little juniors.
  13 oct will also be very significant in the sec 2s and sec 1s lives. You know why? It will be your very first combine with mr desouza!! So, I guess this is just one of the short posts I will be bringing to this blog.
  I strongly encourage activity on this blog because it will serve as a place where the future generations can find information on us old people. Yup! Ok. Jiayous for your remaining papers! Do well!

was FUN
had lunch at sumo house first.
then we went escape by bus 88
the trip is long...
when we reached there escape is closed
and we lost Dominic -.-
found him back anw :)
went cycling n blading
the cyclist went all the way in front and the ppl blading cannot catch up
so splitted into 2 groups :(
but we caught up in the end
played at the playground
had some photos

must be very 幸福 to be in trumpet section :D

went bowling and brandan lost his wallet :O

.... right, I know this is the domain of the young 'uns now, but yeah, just want to put it out there that my old blog is up and running again. You can find the link under the links of this blog (duh). There's some nice tidbits on my thoughts on my band life from them days of yore, 2007 and earlier (April 2007, that's the mother of all highlights).

I don't really know why I'm doing this other than I'm feeling good cos my school term just finished and I think it's always good to know a little history about the band/section.

i was late due to the rain :X
we blew balloons and decorated the storeroom while waiting for joel's arrival
then we practiced the birthday song
we did many rehersals
we even asked a favour from the tuba n horn section to stop practicing for a while while we r playing the song
we also got a great help from junping updating us where they are
and melissa hu pushed joel into the storeroom
our hearts always skipped a beat when somebody opens the door XD
we r "angry" with joel for being late so we called him many times
we waited... then FINALLY
he came in n we played the songs, gave him the presents n cake
aft we went to the bandroom to take some section photos and played MAJONG!!
then went for nomad.

I just gotten back home because i went out with Geraldine and Joel tonight, batch outing again!
Super hella fun :D
Had dinner with Eric, and next we tried to blow the small small balloons the we bought for sec ones for their breathing exercise.
Me, Joel and Eric can do it, Geraldine cant. LOL.
Nevertheless, She could still blow up the already-scratched-ones, so consider good le!
Next, Eric left and we three went to take neoprints with our balloons!
Taking neoprints was super utterly exciting, but after that, its nearly 10 so we did not have the time to go J8 for me to buy some stuff :(

Overall, today was great!
However, on a more depressing note,
THERE IS SCHOOL TOMORROW!
OH NO. After giving myself such a long break from school (not exactly long..)
I'm not sure whether i can switch back to the school mode or not..

I know, things are more and more hectic, tiring and crazy for you guys.
So many performances in the second semester,
and now, 3 are down already.

hey! just got back fr osaka 2 days ago.
im here to blog about POP on 31st May.

super overdue. hahas.

well, this year's POP was ok.

i thought the parade could be better though.
recollection was kinda nice.

its really touching to see your own direct juniors graduating.

you feel this sense of achievement

a kinda feeling that cant be put into words

i just feel so proud of this batch of juniors

i really did put in my heart and soul into teaching them

and i really love them a lot

okay. although it's over already, i still want to wish you all good luck for getting good results. ^^

although exams are already over, but there's no time for us to relax le.
there are soooooooooo many events in the second semester luh!

Aye, sorry everyone, i missed the last sectionals, 27Dec? This december very busy, I went sick. haha, who call me never sleep for nights, Now i have Flu,Cough, sorethroat and low fever, But its soon over.Keep sleeping only. that day i slept to 5pm. then the next day also 5pm. Ha, my post all super short. cause dunno what to put. Anyway, i found a good place to have section outing. Some place where u can hav lots of boardgames to choose and play together, not snakes and ladder or what lar. is some interaction or strategic games. Anyway Merry "belated" Christmas. LOL

I know it sucks to wake up early in the morning and get stupid naggings from teachers because you havent done your work. hahahaha.

wow...this blog has rotted to the core lol. it's been a whole mth (plus a few days) since anyone posted anything. i might as well try to save it now lol.

well...the past few days have been great to me. the last week of sch, throughout monday, tuesday and wednesday i was continuously counting down to thursday, which basically was the beginning of the hols, considering that it was just a celebration and all that. but! i waited in anticipation not for the amkss teacher's day celebrations, but rather for the fact that i would be going back to my primary school and meet up with all my old mates.

in the end, i didnt even bother going to amk on thurs, just made my way back to the old alma mater in the late morning. i got there around 11, but kinda retarded cos the sch only allowed ex-students in at 1.30 -.-. so, rotted outside for about an hr waiting for ppl to come(i was damn early).

when we finally had a group, we decided to go to parkway to eat first, as it was still early. we went to BK. seriously, the place was 90% filled with Ngee Ann alumnus la lol. i had eaten earlier, so wasnt hungry. just talked with the guys as they ate. dammit, it was nice talking to them again. REALLY funny, and i had my first 'real football talk' in a long long time.

after lunch, we were about to head back when we saw our old teacher at parkway! apparently she was supposed to be on course but it ended early so she went to parkway to do smth first lolololol. in other words, she pon sch. lololol

we still went back to the sch, and met many other ppl, not from this core group. we joked and joked and joked and joked some more, damn funny shit. also, the NAPS staff were as uptight as ever. one of my friends stuck his head into the elevator, and this fat malay dude came going all 'HEY U WHAT U DOING'. retarded. he must be touchy about his age, as he kept going 'U DON'T SEE MY HAIR WHITE MEANS I CANNOT CATCH U'. sacred of ageing just say la act so macho for wat. idiot.

anyway we had a laugh at his expense. after a while we decided to go watch a movie, Monster House, at marina square. this was one huge group, 19 ppl in total, and the line of movie tickets was hilariously long. the movie itself was ok la, quite funny in some parts, but quite short, only 1 1/2 hour long.

after we got out, after a little discussion, we decided to head home, but not before taking a group pic. wanna see it just ask me lol. everyone headed home after that, but i went to a friend's house and on a spontaneous decision made later, i decided to stay overnight at his place. cool shit. we played till 2 am then drifted off to slp watching the simpsons on dvd lol.

woke up, had a nice little breakfast then went off home as he had flag day. a fantastic 2 1/2 days spent with old friends. i miss them all.

so, on to the rest of the past few days. nth much happened, just had some de-stressing time to myself. on monday went to watch the dvd Mr Tan brought. 'made us think' is the phrase to use to describe it. also, my parents told me that they had paid the deposit on a new car. it's the toyota wish, if i'm not wrong. nice stuff. it'll be coming at the end of the mth. cool huh. lol.

then ytd, had an uneventful morning before heading to clarissa's house for AGM meeting. quite fun, actually. the stuff we did was qutie productive, although other aspects of the meeting were inconclusive. also, saw HER there...pretty nice heh.

after the meeting we had KFC for dinner...cos of the number of ppl clarissa had to order like $100+ worth of food. chicken, chicken and more chicken lol. quite nice la, but i would've preferred pizza hut. also, iris has a humoungous appetite lol. eat and eat and eat and eat and eat x3000000 times lol.

we watched a dvd after that. 'just my luck'. ok show la, but i feel it lends too much from star power. lindsay lohan is f*** la, but she's what's hot today (proves that public opinion is usually the worst), and the producers decided to put the band Mcfly in also, when they could've gone for a more authentic feel (start power shit. Mcfly is rubbish.) .

after the movie, we went home. quite a fun day, really.

so here i am now, posting on wednesday, 45 minutes before tuition lol. had bio lesson in the morning, boring, but ok.

so. one helluva long post. should save this blog for some time yet lol. plz post more, ppl!

aiyo, ah Qing ah, y u so depress? muz stay happy =)

we (glenn qing and me) left the section liddat, we oso felt sorry... however we put in at least 99.99% of our hardship and time in the section. bt we did not failed totally ^^, we earn the experience. For the sec 1,2,3s , you all still have a long time in the band, dun give up! sec 2 life is a tough year, i almost quit band when i in sec 2 and that time i 100% sure we suffered more than u guys. u all did not cry or suffer depression after every practice, bt we did. i did give up band bcoz i everyday see Qing at bandrm practice very hard, and i thought even a girl is so jian qiang how could me not? Band is a tiring and challenging cca. bt i think band in not only a CCA.

winston ah, next year muz gt best section hor! and plz leads the band well ^^ i noe ur life is SUPER busy, u can go learn from tommy. he gt more post than u, gd results, piano, he outside still gt band. haha. pro right? go ask for his advise if u need help. plz dun bully my sec 1 and 2s, u muz be a "da kor kor" and take care of them. if i hear complains, u die ~~~~ ('___')

my sec 2s ^^: plz dun afraid of taking 1st trumpet in the future, bcoz if SL get u play 1st trumpet means he has faith in u can play well, is no sabo hor. NEVER TRY NEVER KNOW. if u all really wan to improve, when there is new piece, all go qiang 1st, 1st trumpet are more difficult and of coz u can improve more. beside playing, u all must LOVE each others (xiang qin xiang ai) =) if u ppl have gd bonding in the section the music playing will oso improve a lot, as u will have more understanding and feeling when u play with the person beside u. That why the 3 senior alll so "PRO" hahas...

yuqing orh, y we like leave band with full worries ah? -.- so scare that they cannot take good care of themselves haha....

listening to some band songs right now, then windows media player suddenly played: blue ridge saga. It reminded me of our recollection concert that saturday and i began to tear. i remembered what tommy said," This is the 1st major piece we've got when we were sec 2 and we played it during our sec 2 passing out parade. So, we decided to play this as our farewell piece." This was really well said. We started with it and now we're ending it with it too. It really contains alot of our memories in it. The moment we started playing, i just cried. I still remember mr tan scolding the trombones for not playing their soli well and how hard i practised for this piece. At that time, qing kang was still in the section. He played 1st, i played 2nd and liang yun played 3rd. It was because of this song that qing kang started to work hard. He used to be so lazy and heck care about things until 1 week after getting the piece, he suddenly came up to me after school and asked me whether i will be going to the band room. i was like o.O! well, liang yun, qing kang and i really worked damn hard for that piece. Memories seem to just fill my head when we played it once again on saturday, its really so touching. Some of our juniors starting tearing too after hearing the piece. There was this special kinda feeling when we were playing it, just cant explain it. But im sure alot of the sec 4s felt the same way too.

To me, this year's pop was much different from last year's. Though i didnt cry as much this year, i definately felt more. Its the end of my secondary school and life. i cant bear to leave the band and most importantly, my dearest section. Didnt say much to my section this year, don't know why also. I have lots to say, but just don't know how to start it and i don't really wanna see my juniors crying, cause i'll cry more, cant bear to leave. Well, i shall say it here then.

To my beloved section: Honestly, i've been quite disappointed with eu people during the camp, especially the ensemble. But i did'nt tell eu guys, partly because you already had a good scolding from cheng song already and it was really a horrible day for you. Maybe it's not really your fault as well. There was really very little time to practise and maybe its my fault as well. After your ensemble, mr tan came to me and said," Your section like that, how?" i really felt like crying after hearing the ensemble and what he said. I really don't know what to do either. Then i remembered what mr tan said," If you wanna know whether you've been a good section leader, come back after you've graduate, and see how your section fair." Judging from this statement, i've failed as a section leader. i didnt teach you guys well. i've always thought i've been a not bad section leader. i cared for you guys, bond you guys together, taught you everything i had to, talked to you when needed, scolded you when you didnt meet my expectations, cheered you people up when you were down, but i guess i was wrong, im utterly disappointed with myself. To winston: sorry for leaving the section in such a bad state for you. but im sure you'll do a better job in handling the section, i have faith in you. Nevertheless, i would like to thank you guys for everything you've done. You guys are really my everything. We shared the joy, laughter and sorrow together, all the memorable times are just simply unforgettable. i'll remember you guys forever. Do work hard and never give up music ok? i really love you guys. Lastly, i would like to say a bi thank you to glenn. you're really great. Though i've been very strict with you. i scold you for every single bit of thing, but i wanna let you know that you've not only been a great senior, but a great friend too. you were always there to lend a helping hand and give advise on how to improve the section. And Liang Yun. You were the 1 who supported me, and gave me great advises too. You were always patient and always listened to me when i had problems with the section. thanks alot!

Lastly, i would like to say a big thank you to these people too: tommy, junxian, layting for being such great leaders and helping me and encouraging me in one way or another. and most importantly to WEE TING! for everything! really everything. for accompaning me to the toilet and being so patient, wait for me to tie hair and everything=P thanks for sharing my troubles with me, cheering me up and encouraging me. not forgetting buying my meals for me!=)

today's a happie happie day, had maths 'test' in the morning, not counted de... so didnt revise=P then had english... which is = slacking period. then had ss... got back ss test paper... gort 10/13!!! hard work paid off! hahas... the 2 hours of studying paid off! whEee.... shoo happie! den physics... slacked throughout too. i printed lyrics. so selena and i went mad again as usual. sang and sang and sang... cant stop singing. we tried singing in chords. 50% worked=\ hahas! then chinese... continued singing with jing da. hahas... keep singing! madness=x

its been a dsgusting week for me, been sick and lying in my bed for the past week=\ had on off fevers and very bad headache. then had stomach flu, lots of air in the stomach, so uncomfortable..! only went to school on wednesday... 1 day week! you peeps must be jealous! but being sick isnt very nice.

then... things start to complicate. that sms from him made me confused and messed up. i shdnt have started all these... haiis. but in the end... they were just lies. i was there lying in bed... feeling a little happier for once
then... all these turned out to be just a... LIE! im not angry... and i dont hate you and i wun... cos it would be childish for me to do so. but... why? why do you have to do this?

well... but after this... it made me realise that... mayb i've only treated you as a fren all along. there wasnt love at all from the very beginning.

yan ling dun so emo leh lol. scary sia ahaha. the band rm's always open, i always do my best to ensure that. i would go to band rm everyday if i could, so u dun have to worry that the room would be closed.

hoo boy. here we go. i relish the role of BMA, but it's also kinda scary, hearing what all the former leaders have said. doesn't matter, i'll do my best, and for damn sure i'll do well. must have confidence hahah.

man utd drew with sunderland! sonofab****. how can liddat. chelsea also beat bolton. finish liao, no more title. crapshit. nvm...at least still have automatic qualification to the champion's league next season. on a local front, i need to play more football lol. i miss playing with the band dudes haha. ball control and dribbling!

also, need to find some time in the hols to go shopping for games with Boon. got money but no time. i've been putting this off since CNY ended, very long already. i need an RPG, a new FPS and a UT, preferably a newer version of course =)

bored off my ass these few days at home. still, it's better than going to school. boring crap, school. still, have to endure it. oh well. at least there's band.

music-wise, i've been listening quite a bit to Metallica. confirm u all cannot appreciate one lol. crazy-ass heavy metal. i'm getting deeper and deeper into hard rock and metal. once o lvl's over i think i go learn guitar. slowly, start with acoustic, play all those sentimental. then afterwards slowly branch into electric then....wahahahahahhahahahahah scaly next time i play like Slash lol.

finallly, the sec4s are leaving soon... this one year and four months have been a real real great time for miie...

under the love of yuqing, stillness of liangyun, the care of glenn... and the laughter of this three best seniors... we have grown up to become the seniors of tashphyll, germaine and iris...

since the time when we, the sec1s for year 2005 joins the band, we have our doubts and questions... but our seniors answered them and i myself have never regretted my decision of joining band and i am sure the others share the same thoughts...

now... they are leaving, we should learn to be interpendent and not relying on the seniors...

they have given the section their entire school-life, their mind, soul, energy and enthusiatism... now, it it time for us to continue on wadd they have did...

really hope that the juniors would be more enthu... love the band... love your instrument... give the passion...

stepping real soon... my band life's coming to an end! hais. turned back and thought of those days when i was a only a sec 1... thinking that 4 years is a long way to go. 4 years suddenly seemed so short. my band life seemed like a roller coaster ride... with lots of ups and downs. band has really added alot of colors to my life... making it meaningful and unforgettable. i just wanna let my dearest trumpet section know how much i love and cherish you guys. you guys were awesome... really cant bear to leave all of you. we've been throught thick and thin together. those happy, sad and nervous moments were simply memorable. a few really unforgettable moments: i remember my birthday last year... when my 4 little juniors suddenly 'attacked' me when i was conducting senior sectionals. it was my best birthday ever... really... i was so touched. another moment was the day when cheng song talked to us. we stood in a circle... hugged each other and cried. and of cause the days we spent together with watsuthi.

to my 4 adorable sec 2s: the 4 of you have been a joy to teach... forever so enthusiastic=) you guys don't know how much i love you all<3

to winston: i've seen you from shorts to long pants. hope you'll love the section as much as i do and im sure you'll b a great section leader. im sorry for being harsh on you sometimes but you've really been a great frien and junior.

to liang yun and glenn: the 2 of you are just wonderful... forever my best section mates... always giving me valuable advises and helping me out. the 2 of you are always so silly and forever making the section laugh=) its great having you guys by my side
